Justin Barbee
Mr. Barbee is excited to kick off his third year with the incredible students of Lamar High School! As Co-Director of the Viking Theatre Department, he teaches Theatre I, Technical Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Blue Curtain Productions. He is eager to see what magic this year’s theatre season will bring.
Mr. Barbee’s journey in theatre has taken him across high school, collegiate, and professional stages, providing him with a well-rounded perspective on all aspects of performance and production. After stepping away from the spotlight, he discovered a deep passion for teaching and is now devoted to guiding the next generation of performers and technicians.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Santa Fe University of Art and Design and furthered his education in design through the University of Texas at Arlington. Some of his most memorable projects include Pippin (Pippin), Dogwood (Scenic Designer), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (“Chip” Tolentino), The Glorious Ones (Francesco), The Sweet Science of Bruising (Director) and Mamma Mia! (Director).
When he's not immersed in the world of theatre, he treasures spending time with his wife, Allison, and their son, Kellin.
